A toddler's view of Scripture...
Emory LOVES the story of Jonah and the Whale (er, I mean "big fish"). I really think it is all about the fun noises mommy makes when we got to the part where Jonah gets spit on the beach after his 3 days sabbatical. She asks for this story every time we have a Bible story after dinner and has recently begun bringing it up at random intervals. Here are two such conversations:
On Sunday we were coming home from church and I was sitting in the backseat with her since Eric's mom was visiting.
Emory: "Big fish says 'BLAH!'"
Mommy: "That's right, Emory! The big fish spit Jonah out and then God told Jonah to do what?"
Emory: "Obey!"
Mommy: "Good job, Sweetie!" God said, 'Jonah, obey and go to....?'"
Emory: "Obey and go to bed!"
Hmmmm......
And then this morning Emory had picked up the phone and was having a rather lively "conversation" with someone.
Mommy: "Who are who talking to, Emory?"
Emory: "Jonah"
Can't wait to get that phone bill!
