Works For Me Wednesday...

You will never find a "Wordless Wednesday" here! I've got the gift of gab and if I have nothing to say, I must be ill. So, instead, I think I'll try to start a "Works For Me" tradition. I am one of "those" women who LOVE being a stay-at-home mom. I love all things domestic and make most things from scratch because I love to, not because I think it is the way you should. Box meals are fun, but I love to cook. I would never consider myself a gormet chef, but I do love the process of experimenting and creating new meals. I REALLY love to bake and that suits my beloved just fine!

One of my dearest's favorite treats is the old fashioned chocolate chip cookie. Who has the time to whip up a batch every time the notion strikes? Not me! And, if I added making a batch of cookies to what I do each week on baking day, I would be the Stay-puff Marshmellow woman. So, I came up with a solution to our problem. (Disclaimer: This may be something that has already occurred to many of you, but I am not gifted in thinking outside the box and I was thrilled with this discovery.)
I make a batch of cookie dough and keep it in a tupperware container inside the fridge. It keeps for several months and you can make as little or as many as you want at a time.

So, at 9:00 while watching the evening news, if our daddy dearest says to me, "You know what would be great? Cookies and milk!" I can fulfill his request with very little effort. And, it only takes 10 minutes to whip up the cookie dough. Yep, I timed it. And, I don't have to fight the temptation to nibble here and there all week long on the cookies.

It works for me!
